The Head of the Sector of Employment and Social Insurance of N.D., MP for Achaia, N. Nikolopoulos, submitted a question to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Education, with which he demands that help be given to the Greek Minority of FYROM.

Mr Nikolopoulos mentioned statements of the first President of FYROM, Kiro Gligorov, who on 10.07.1993 had spoken of the existence of a minority of 100,000 Greeks in his country. He referred to “statistical studies” of the time, which, as the MP underlines, “we never saw and more importantly their validity was never proven or investigated”.

The N.D. MP asks the Ministers who responsibility it is to clarify if and which actions where undertaken by Greece to make this the declaration of the President of FYROM internationally known and to verify its claims in a way that will be beneficial to Greece. He furthermore invites the two ministers to answer if they have the intention to answer whether they have the intention to help the Greek minority in FYROM from now on, as he himself recognises the “pressions put on our compatriots in the neighbouring country”, but also the “intentions that are frequently and publicly expressed by state officials of FYROM concerning our Macedonia”.
