The Prime Minister of Skopje, Nikola Gruevski rejects a name with a geographic definition for all uses (erga omnes) as a solution of the problem with Greece.

Speaking to the TV station “Kanal 5” he showed himself to be against the acceptance of a geographic definition for the name of the country, such as “Northern Macedonia”, that since the recent NATO Summit has again resurfaced.

“The geographic definition in front of the term “Macedonia” will hurt the Macedonian identity, transforming it into a North-Macedonian identity or something similar” stated Gruevski, insisting on his intransigent position concerning a compromise with Greece. He also appeared to by directly opposed to the “erga omnes” that Athens wants, saying that this would demand a Constitutional change.
