Skopje. The Balkan media report on the visit of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Bulgaria and the statement of bishop Hilarion that the Russian Orthodox Church wants to mediate in the dispute between the Serbian and Macedonian churches.
Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev, Chairman of External Church Relations Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, said the Russian church was ready to mediate in finding a solution to the status of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, announced the Macedonian news website MKD.MK.
“We are ready to mediate,” said bishop Hilarion.
Moscow wants to be a mediator between the Macedonian Orthodox Church and Serbian Orthodox Church, reads a title in the Macedonian online edition Kurir.
“Moscow can offer a solution based on its own experience. We are prepared to be mediators, because it is important for the Macedonian Orthodox Church to return into the canonical order and there are many models for this – without recognizing autocephaly of a church actual independence can be offered,” said the bishop.
The Macedonian website Skai cites bishop Hilarion as saying that it is necessary for the Serbian Orthodox Church and Macedonian Orthodox Church to solve the issue through a dialog.

The Russian church wants a solution to the problem with the Macedonian Orthodox Church, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
What is most important is for the Macedonian Orthodox Church to return to the canonical order and there are a lot of other models, without the necessary recognition of autocephaly, said the bishop.
Bishop Timotej with the Macedonian Orthodox Church said the church will not refuse help from the Russian Orthodox Church. He also expressed skepticism about the willingness of the Serbian Orthodox Church to solve the issue.
“Everyone offering help which is acceptable to both sides can be useful. The Macedonian Orthodox Church is pleased to accept the proposal of the Russian Orthodox Church, if this is acceptable to the Serbian Orthodox Church,” said bishop Timotej.
The Russian church wants to be a mediator, reads a title in the Serbian daily Danas. The newspaper cites bishop Hilarion as saying that the Russian church can offer a solution to the status issue of the Macedonian Orthodox Church.
The Russian church wants to be a mediator between Belgrade and Skopje, says a title in the Serbian daily Blic. The Russian church voiced willingness to mediate in finding a solution about the status of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, which is not recognized by the orthodox world now.
