N. Poposki meets Ban Ki-Moon about the Issue of the Name of fYROM

The issue of the name of fYROM and the intermediary role of the UN were discussed last night during the meeting at the headquarters of the international organisation by its Secretary General , Ban Ki-Moon and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of fYROM, Nikola Poposki.

According to the statement issued by the UN “they discussed the importance of achieving progress in resolving the name issue”. During their meeting they also discussed “the situation in Syria, as well as the upcoming UN summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, in June”.

According to information of the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, during the meeting the situation following the decision of the International Court of the Hague, as well as the efforts of fYROM to achieve accession to the E.U. and NATO.

Mr Poposki, during his contacts in New York and Washington, seems to be seeking to gat the issue of his country onto the agenda of the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago.
